What Do You Do For FUN?Views: 355

T.E.A.M. Mom!
What is it that you do for fun, outside of all you do as a
business person?

Well let's see, I like to write (poetry), draw (abstract mostly), paint (watercolor and acrylic) and do crafts (mostly holiday ones now). I haven't done either in such a long time, I really should try to squeeze time into my stupid schedule, make me feel better.

I also like to read, mostly historical, ancient archeology, biblical stuff and anything Agatha Christie and Jane Austin! Since I spend so much time online b/ researching and working, I tend to read alot of stuff this way, but am finding it very tedious. I love when I can come across a favorite on video or on TV, brings the story and characters to life.

And, I love just being outside, whenever and where ever I can and is!!! Growing up in the city area, we really longed for the solitude and serenity away from all the constant noise, there were times it was so noisy growing up we could never sleep. I love going to my parents house a few minutes down the road so I can sit on their deck out front or just swing on my grams swing in the back.

Being that I am a renter for the past 11 yrs, I need to have this escape from time to time when my neighbors get rambuncous (which seems to be a 24/7 thing for 9 yrs). I can also take a quick walk across the street, climb the sand dunes and wa la beach and water! One direction is NYC, the other is the ocean, now that is what I call fun :) That is the only reason I won't move and put up with all I do, I just love the water, I look at every day from my top bedroom window and at night when it is real still I can hear the waves crashing.

My all time favorite fun activity since moving down here is going to Holmdel Park, where I can browse about their gardens, walk around a huge pond, take a mini hike on the trails, visit the working farm or the old homestead (where they are in 18th century clothing). The best time to go here is when the weather gets cool, fall is magnificant, hayrides, pumpkin picking, harvesting (even have an old fashioned halloween party) and the Holidays.

Thanksgiving time they do a feast, share instructional tid bits from the time period, show you how to prepare foods, etc and leading up to Christmas they have all sorts of fun things for families/kids to do, an old fashioned St Nick Party (kids make their own ornaments), see Santa, get a small gift! If it snows, they will even pull out the old horse sled, man oh man, I love that ride. They also light a big huge fire pit inside their visitor center that you can sit around and watch, get warm.

Well this is some of what I do for fun. Kind of boring I know, considering how crazy I can come across :D Enjoy your day, Patricia
